Citizens of most countries require valid visa to enter Bangladesh. The Embassy will determine the type and category of visa and duration of stay upon receiving an application. Bangladesh has different types of visas depending on the purpose and length of your visit.
This visa is issued for foreigners who want to visit Bangladesh for the purpose of tourism or casual visit to meet friends & relatives or to join in a seminar/conference/workshop/study tour or religious purpose etc.
Business visa in Bangladesh is valid for six months and as this is a multiple-entry visa. You can extend your business visa to Bangladesh for up to three to five (3-5) years. A business visa does not allow you to work in Bangladesh.
This visa is issued for an individual who is a regular student or student seeking admission/researcher in any government approved educational institution in Bangladesh
This visa allows its holder to be employed and work in the country. It is a multiple-entry visa, and it is initially valid for three (3) months.
This visa is required for diplomatic or official government purposes.
The primary purpose of the investment visa in Bangladesh is to permit the holder to attend and hold business meetings. But of course, these meetings must be related to their investments within the country.
This visa issued for an individual who is a foreign journalist of newspapers/magazines/TV or radio networks/ news agencies/ representatives of print, electronics or satellite media/freelance journalist want to visit Bangladesh for the purpose of collecting information/news or official duty. A Journalist visa may be issued for maximum one (01) month with single/double/ multiple entries.
An individual who appointed in a NGOs registered in Bangladesh, he /she is eligible to apply for NGO visa. A NGO visa may be issued for maximum three (03) months with single, double or multiple entries . Duration of stay in this category is maximum 90 days in each visit.
A transit visa allows the holder to stay in Bangladesh for a maximum of 72 hours. This visa is for those who are passing by the country before they reach their last destination.
Depend on the purposes of stay, each types of visa has different requirements.
General requirements:
f)Invitation and covering letters are required preferably the original or fax copy.
g)Copy of Indian valid visa is required to be enclosed with the application of foreign nationals (other than Indian).
h)Please pay only exact amount of visa fee in cash (in Rupees) applicable to other than Indian nationals and change is not available in the visa counter and collect the money receipt in this regard.

Investment visa:
Letter from BOI/BEPZA stating that the applicant is an investor.
