Belarus is a landlocked country in Eastern Europe bordered by Russia to the northeast, Ukraine to the south, Poland to the west, and Lithuania and Latvia to the northwest.

Most of the foreign citizens need a visa to enter Belarus unless they come from one of the visa exempt countries or if their visa had been approved in advance for collection on arrival. Belarus settled visa-free travel for the citizens of 75 states for 30 days.

TYPES OF BELARUS VISA

The Republic of Belarus provides the following types of visas:

Visa Type B

Transit visa with the right of single, double or multiple transit through the territory of the Republic of Belarus within 2 days 

Visa Type C

Short-term visa with validity up to 90 days with the right of single, double or multiple entry and the right to stay for up to 90 days

for a purpose of business, for participation in sport or cultural events

for tourism

for private purposes

to study

for employment

for religious reasons

for the implementation of humanitarian programs

for visiting the burial places

for journalistic activity

for permanent residence;

Visa Type D

Type D - long-term visa with validity up to 1 year with the right to stay for up to 90 days

for a purpose of business

for participation in sport or cultural events

for private purposes

for visiting the burial places

for religious reasons

for the implementation of humanitarian programs

for journalistic activity

  • for employment

REQUIREMENTS OF BELARUS VISA

In order to obtain an entry visa to Belarus, a foreigner provides the following common documents:

  • one copy of the visa application form according to the approved form (http://mfa.gov.by/docs/visa/visa_en.html);
  • one photo (size 35 x 45 mm, it should be taken not more than 6 months before);
  • document for travel abroad;
  • visa support documents;
  • additional documents necessary for making a decision on issuance of entry visa (on demand of the consular officer);
  • health insurance;

Visa for business, participation in sport and cultural events purpose requirements: an original letter of visa support of a legal entity, issued on the letter-head with the full name of the entity, its location and telephone number and the obligation of the legal entity to assure a foreign citizen observance of the rules of stay in the Republic of Belarus.

For long term stay:

  • an original letter of visa support of a Belarusian legal entity;
  • a document, that proves the necessity of multiple visits to the Republic of Belarus during the requested period of visa validity, i.e. a copy of a contract (cooperation agreement) between a Belarusian legal entity and foreign citizen or foreign organization where he/she works, that confirms the existence of stable business connection, or document of a Belarusian legal entity (including the founding documents), confirming that the foreigner is a founder of a Belarusian commercial organization or an employee of a foreign company, that has established the commercial organization in Belarus;
  • by the decision of the consular officer – other documents, confirming the information, contained in the letter of visa support, and the existence of business contacts.

    Visa to study requirements – an original invitation of the Belarusian educational institution, approved by the Citizenship and Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, for the period, specified in the invitation, or appropriate confirmation from the Citizenship and Migration Department, sent directly to the Embassy/Consulate;

    Visa For religious reasons requirements – an original letter of visa support of a religious association, issued on a letter-head with the full name of the religious association, its location and telephone number, and the obligation of the religious association to assure a foreign citizen observance of the rules of stay in the Republic of Belarus, approved by the Commissioner for Religious and Ethnic Affairs;

    Visa for tourism – one of the following original documents for the period, specified in the document, but no more than 30 days:

  • A letter of visa support of a Belarusian tourist company, issued on a letter-head with the full name of the tourist company, its location and telephone number and the obligation of the tourist company to assure a foreign citizen observance of the rules of stay in the Republic of Belarus;
  • a letter of visa support of a sanatorium-and-spa resort or recreation center, issued on a letter-head with its full name, location and telephone number, purpose, period of stay of a foreign citizen, services rendered, confirmation of the voucher reservation and full or partial prepayment for the services, as well as the obligation of the sanatorium-and-spa resort or recreation center to assure a foreign citizen observance of the rules of stay in the Republic of Belarus; 
  • a letter of visa support of a representative of farm tourism business with its name and address, purpose, period of stay of a foreign citizen, services rendered and the obligation of the representative to assure a foreign citizen observance of the rules of stay in the Republic of Belarus and copies of documents, confirming the right to provide its services in the sphere of farm tourism;

Visa for journalistic activity – upon temporary accreditation by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus

HOW TO APPLY FOR BELARUS VISA

Step 1: Gather documents

You should download visa application form, then fill out the form. Depending on your purpose of stay, you must prepare diferent documents.

Step 2: Submit visa application

Submit your visa application with required documents to the embassy or consulate. Don’t for get to bring visa fees.

Step 3: Wait for visa decision

Wait and collect the visa on time.

VISA PROCESSING TIME

After submiting your visa application, it will take 3-10 days to process then you will inform the time to collect your visa.

BELARUS VISA APPLICATION FORM

All participants need to fill in the visa application form. If a question does not apply, please, write “n/a". Incomplete forms will be returned to the applicants unprocessed. The purpose of the visit must be described in detail. It is the applicant’s responsibility to check whether the information given on the form is correct. Failure to observe this requirement may result in refusal of the application.
