Brunei is a tiny tropical country but it very famous for sizeable deposits of oil and gas which gives Brunei the highest standards of living in the world.

The Government of Brunei Darussalam allows citizens of specific countries/territories to travel to Brunei for tourism or business for up to 90, 30 or 14 days without having to obtain a visa.

BRUNEI VISA EXEMPTION

Citizens of the following countries can travel to Brunei for 90 days without obtaining a visa: European Union All European Union citizens, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland, United States

Citizens of the following countries can travel to Brunei for 30 days without obtaining a visa: Laos, Malaysia, New Zealand, Oman, Singapore, South Korea, Turkey, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates

Citizens of the following countries can travel to Brunei for 14 days without obtaining a visa: Cambodia, Canada, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Macau, Maldives, Myanmar, Peru,  Philippines, Russia, Thailand, Vietnam

TYPES OF BRUNEI VISA

Brunei Visa is divided into many different types depending on the purpose of travel:

Brunei Tourist Visa

Tourist Visa is issued for people entering Brunei for tourism purpose and tourists may stay up to 90 days.

Brunei Business visa

Business visa is a visa to enter Brunei for business, and may stay up to 90 days.

Brunei Employment visa

Employment visa permit foreign workers to be employed in the country.

Brunei Transit visa

Transit visa is issued to individuals who will transit through a Brunei airport to another country, without entering into the territory of France.

Cost of Brunei visa may vary depending on the nationality of participants
Single Entry – B$15.00.
Multiple Entry (3 months) – B$20.00.
Multiple Entry (1 year) – B$30.00.

BRUNEI VISA REQUIREMENTS

You should obtain a Brunei Visa from Brunei High Commissions and Embassies in other countries before arrival at a Brunei Immigration Checkpoint.

Brunei Tourist Visa Requirements:

  • Passport valid at least six months
  • Photocopy of the first, second and last page required
  • 1 Typed visa from
  • 2 photographs with white background
  • Covering letter for stating purpose of visit
  • Hotel confirmation
  • Return ticket
  • Bank statements last six months
  • Tax returns last three months

Brunei Business visa requirements

  • Passport valid at least six months
  • Photocopy of the first, second and last page required
  • 1 Typed visa from

  • Covering letter for stating purpose of visit
  • Hotel confirmation
  • Return ticket
  • Bank statements last six months
  • Tax returns last three months
  • A Covering letter from the Indian company giving details of the business correspondence/ an Invitation letter from the Associates in Brunei.
  • Proof of funds in the form of foreign exchange endorsement on passport.
  • Bank statement for last six months.

Brunei Transit visa requirements

  • A visa is not required to transit through this destination.
  • Passport Requirements: Original, signed passport valid for 6 months beyond stay, and with at least one blank visa page available for stamp(s).
  • Proof Of Departure: Confirmed onward airline ticket.
  • Medical Requirements: Yellow Fever vaccination certificate is required for visitors over one year of age coming from infected areas.
  • Other Requirements: Valid onward destination visas (if applicable).

Brunei Employments visa requirements

  • Two copies of foreign worker application form;
  • A copy of the identity card; passport for each applicant, owner or partner in the company;
  • A copy of the valid passport for every applicant;
  • Copies of approval letters from relevant government agencies (if applicable);
  • A list of local employees verified by the TAP;
  • Verification of mandatory registration from JobCentre Brunei;
  • A copy of certificate equivalent to the occupation should the occupation require qualifications;
  • A copy of the tenancy agreement for office, or company and worker residence (If applicable); and
  • In case of construction activities, attached copies of ongoing or upcoming projects.

HOW TO APPLY FOR A BRUNEI VISA

To apply for a Brunei visa, you should consider the following steps:

Step 1: Gather documents

Determine the type of Brunei visa that you need to apply for and prepare the required documents for your application.

Step 2: Submit visa application

Submit your completed visa application form at the Embassy of Brunei nearest to you, along with all the required documentation. Pay required visa application fee

Step 3: Wait for visa decision

Wait your visa for approvement and collect it.

VISA PROCESSING TIME

Visa will be processed in 2 working days excluding the submission day. Some nationalities may require additional background check so the processing time can be up to 14 working days.
