1. Overview
Canada is a huge country which have many tourist destinations attracting a lot of travelers all over the world. However, it is also one of the countries that are very difficult to apply for a visa to enter country. Depending on the purpose of entering Canada, applicants must fill different kind of visa application forms. For the paper form, you will need to complete the form then print it out and sign it. For some special types of Canada visa you can easily apply online.
2. Types of Canada Visa Application Forms
Check out the following list of the most common Canada visa and decide which one is suitable for your trip’s purpost to Canada:
Form CIT 0001E – For Get Proof of Citizenship
This form is used by Canadian citizens who live in or outside of Canada who would like to apply for a citizenship certificate as proof of Canadian citizenship. You can also use this form to request a replacement for your lost, stolen, damaged citizenship certificata.

Form CIT 0002e – To Apply for Canada Citizenship
This form is used by candidates of 18 years of age or older, who have been permanent residents and who wish to apply for Canadian citizenship.
Candidates want to apply this form must:
- Resided in Canada for at least 1095 days in the past five years preceding the date of the application.
- Be able to speak and communicate in English or French (adults 65 years of age or older are exempted).
- Have general knowledge of Canada and of the responsibilities and privileges of citizenship (adults 65 years of age or older are exempted).

Form IMM 1436 – Request to Amend Record of Landing, Confirmation of Permanent Residence or Valid Temporary Resident Documents
This form is the application to amend a Record of Landing or Confirmation for Permanent Residence. Only if the errors have been made by the IRCC (formerly known as CIC) are you able to correct them with this form.

Form IMM 5444E – Application for a Permanent Resident Card (PR Card)
This form is used by applicants with permanent resident status in Canada, who are applying for their first Permanent Resident Card or for a renewal or replacement of a Permanent Resident Card.
You can apply for a Permanent Resident Card if:
- you are a permanent resident of Canada and
- you are not a Canadian citizen or registered Indian under the Indian Act.

Form CIT 0003 – Apply for Canadian Citizenship – Minors
This form is used by parents to apply for citizenship for their children.

Form CIT 0010 – Apply for Canadian Citizenship – Adopted Person
This form is the first part of a two part process for getting Canadian citizenship for an adoptive child of a Canadian citizen.
To Apply using this form, adopter must meet the following criterias:
- The adoptee must be adopted after 1946 and can’t be a Canadian citizen
- The adoptive parent must be a Canadian citizen at the time of the adoption
Adopted children include
- Minors, or children under the age of 18
- Adults who were adopted as minors
- People who were adopted as adults, over the age of 18

Form CIT 0497 – Applications for Grant of Citizenship for Stateless persons Born to a Canadian Parent
This form was created to allow people who were not granted a nationality at birth, who have at least one parent who is a Canadian citizen to apply for Canadian citizenship
To apply this form candidates must meet the following criterion:
- to be currently stateless that means no nationality.
- Not to have ever had a claim to any nationality.
- Be at least 18. If you are under the age of 18, then the parent has to file the application. However, in both cases, the stateless person is the applicant.

Form IMM 0008 – Family-based Immigration Application
This form is used to apply for immigration and permanent residency in Canada. To use this form you must to have a sponsor first.

Form IMM 1294 – Apply for a Canadian Study Permit
This form is used by individuals who want to apply for a study permit made outside of Canada. Approved study permits may be limited to study at a certain school, or certain course of study.

Form IMM 5257 – Apply For Temporary residence visa
This form is used by individuals who want to apply for a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) to visit Canada for a temporary purpose such as tourism, visiting family or friends, or business trips.

This form has to be completed by the primary applicant and every member of the family who is over 18 years of age, whether or not they are accompanying the primary applicant to Canada.

This form is used to tally up the appropriate fees for an application for permanent residence in Canada.
Form IMM 5645 – Family Information Form for Temporary Resident Visa
This form is required to be completed by individuals applying for a Temporary Resident Visa, outside Canada.

This form is to be completed by the Canadian custodians of minor children traveling without their parent(s) or legal guardians to study in Canada.

Form IMM 5708 – Application to Change Conditions, Extend my Stay or Remain in Canada as a Visitor or Temporary Resident Permit Holder
This form is used by temporary residents to modify some conditions of their residency in Canada or to extend your temporary resident permit as many times as you like, provided you can show that your stay remains temporary.

Form IMM 5709 – Application to Change Conditions or Extend Your Stay in Canada as a Student
This form is used by temporary visitors in Canada to extend a study permit or request an initial study permit in some cases. To use this form applicants must already be in Canada with a valid Temporary Resident Visa (TRV).
Form IMM 5710 – Application to Change Conditions or Extend your Stay in Canada as a Worker
This form is used by temporary residents who have work permits, but wish to extend the validity of their work permit.
This form can also be used to extend the validity of your work permit after you’ve graduated from a Canadian educational facility as long as the time you worked in Canada is not over 4 years
3. Guidelines for Completing the Form
– Complete the required information
– Fill in the blank. Make sure to read all the instructions carefully and provide as much information as possible, avoid typing errors.
– After finishing the form, check all information again. The information filled in the form should be as clear and exact as possible.
– Finally, print the filled form out and sign it.
Note: The Visa application form should be completely filled and signed by Visa applicant and not another person. If the visa applicant is a minor (under 18), the application must be signed by a person having parental authority and their relationship should be included in parentheses (father, mother, guardian). If the visa applicant cannot sign, a cross may be used.
