ESTONIA VISA EXEMPTION

Nationals of the member states of the European Union (EU) and the European Economic Area (EEA) and any third-country national who is a holder of a residence permit of a Schengen state do not need a visa to enter Estonia.

The holders of passports of the following countries do not need a visa to enter Estonia for stays of no more than three months in a 6 month period:

TYPES OF ESTONIA VISA

Depending on the purpose of your travel to Estonia, there are different types of visas that will apply to the occasion.

Tourist visa

Tourist visa is issued for those travellers looking to visit Estonia for purpose of tourism.

Business visa

A business visa is given to those who are planning to visit Estonia for engaging in temporary work or business.

Visa for medical treatment

Visa for medical treatment is isued for people seek better medical treatment or specialized treatment for a disease that cannot be treated in their own country.

Visa for cultural activities, sports or film crew

This is a special visa given to applicants who want to travel to Estonia to participate in cultural, film or sporting events.

Student visa 

Student visa is issued for applicants who are intending to undertaking a recognised course of study in Estonia should apply for Student visa.

Transit visa

A transit visa is required if there is a scheduled layover of a few hours in Estonia before heading to your destination.

Official visit visa 

If your travel is related to attending intergovernmental meetings, consultations, negotiations or events, you will need to apply for a special official visit visa.

ESTONIA VISA REQUIREMENTS

General required documents for Estonia Schengen visas:

  • Download the application form, fill it completely and with sincerity. You can also fill the Estonia Schengen Visa application form electronically and then print a hard-copy
  • 2 photos must be attached; the photo should be of passport format – a recent whole-face capture with a light background.
  • Your passport and copies of your previous visas – valid for at least 3 months beyond return date – are required. Your passport must have at least two blank pages.
  • Travel medical insurance confirmation of minimum 30,000 € coverage within Estonia and the entire Schengen area
  • A cover letter stating the purpose of visit to Estonia and itinerary
  • A copy of your return-ticket reservation with dates and flight numbers specifying entry and exit from Estonia. It is not recommended to purchase the ticket before obtaining the visa – if not otherwise required.
  • Proof of Accommodation for the whole duration of the intended stay in Estonia.
  • Proof of civil status (marriage certificate, birth certificate of children, death certificate of spouse, ration card if applicable)
  • Means of subsistence – Proof of sufficient financial means for the period of stay in Estonia. The amount of financial means that every foreigner applying for an Estonian Visa has to demonstrate owning to the Estonian Embassy or Consulate, is 600 EEK or 38.35€ /day for the period of stay in Estonia.

Estonia Tourist/Visitor Visa:

Invitation letter from your family or friends in Estonia with the address and phone number – if applicable

Bank statement of the last 6 months

Passport copies

Estonia Visa for Business Purposes:

Invitation letter from the Estonian company you will be visiting and their detailed address accompanied with the dates of your visit

A certificate from your employer stating/allowing your business travel

If there were previous trade relations between the two companies, proof of such events must be provided

Business bank statement of the latest 6 months

Memorandum and Article of Association in original certified copy (registered with joint stock companies) Trade License (first issued and present renewal), Proprietorship/Partnership documents

Regarding the applicant’s expenses during stay in the Schengen zone, either the employer or the partner company must state coverage of expenses on the letter or invitation.

Estonia Visa for Medical Purposes:

A local medical report

A medical attestation from the hospital or doctor in Estonia, confirming the date of your appointment as well as your medical situation

Payment receipt of medical fees

Estonia Visa for Cultural, Sports, Film Crew or Religious Purposes:

Invitation letter from the above-mentioned authorities with details upon the nature of events or activities – purpose of visit , expense coverage

Duration of stay

Travel itinerary

Estonia Visa for Members of Official Delegations:

HOW TO APPLY FOR ESTONIA VISA

The way to apply for Estonia visa is the same as other schengen visa country, to apply for Estonia visa just follow these steps:

VISA PROCESSING TIME

Minimum processing time is 15 Calendar days (It may further get delayed depending on the case). All applications must be submitted at least 15-20 days prior to the proposed date of travel to accommodate any unforeseen processing delays.
