TYPES OF INDIA VISA

Tourist visa

Entry (X) Visa

This type of Visa is for the people of other countries who want to come over to India but do not come under any specific category for an Indian Visa applicant. Examples are volunteers, etc.

It is limited for the below types of visitors to the country:

- A foreigner who is of Indian origin.

- The above person’s spouse and kids or Indian citizen.

-The spouse and dependent kids of a foreigner visitor on a long term Visa like Employment visa /Business Visa.

Employment Visa

This kind of Visa is obtained by foreigners who work in India, for an organization that is registered in India. Generally, Employment Visas are granted for the term of the contract or one year period.

Intern (I) Visa (New)

Earlier any foreigner pursuing an internship program in an Indian organization had to obtain an Employment Visa. Post April 1, 2017, upon meeting specific conditions, foreigners can obtain an Intern Visa.

Business Visa

There are people outside of India who would like to know about business opportunities. So the Business Visa is for such kind of foreigners who would like to conduct business in India. The Business Visa Holder/ applicant cannot work for an organization in India.

Student visa

Foreigner students who would like to study long term courses in India obtain this kind of visa. Foreign students go for officially recognized education institutions in order to study a long term course. These study courses include Yoga Study, Vedic Culture, Indian System of Music & Dance, etc.

Conference Visa

Conference Visas are issued to foreign delegates to be able to attend a conference in India organized by an Indian Government Organization. For foreign candidates who would like to attend a private organization conference in India require to obtain a Business visa.

Journalist Visa

This type of visas are for professional journalists /photographers.

Film Visa/ (F) Visa: (New)

Research Visa

Medical Visa

Transit Visa

This is a short span Visa as those visiting /staying in India lesser than 72 hours obtain this type of Visa.

  • Invitation letter from Indian partner or company with the complete information regarding the visit along with the undertaking of all the responsibilities while a foreign national stays in India; letter of invitation MUST be signed, duly stamped and addressed to the Embassy of India in Warsaw
  • Letter from the company where the applicant is employed with the information about the visit to Indian company along with the undertaking of all the responsibilities while the applicant stays in India. Letter MUST be stamped and duly signed by the authorised person.

  • Application form * 1
  • Colour photo * 1 (3,5 x 4,5 cms)
  • Original passport
  • Copy of return ticket or reservation
  • Letter from the university, school or yoga kendra (school) with the complete information about studies, total period of studies and confirmation of addmission
  • Proof of the paid tution fee
  • Copy of the registration certificate of the university, school, kendra or institute
  • Bank statement of the applicant’s bank account (The Embassy of India has put this requirment to see if the applicant will be able to cover all the expences while staying in India)

Documents required for india medical visa application

  • Application form * 1
  • Colour photo * 1 (3,5 x 4,5 cms)
  • Original passport
  • Copy of return ticket or reservation
  • Letter from Indian hospital or doctor with the confirmation of patient’s admission, with the information about type of disease and approximate period of treatment
  • Letter from Indian hospital or doctor with the details of the person going with a patient as an attendant
  • Copy of old reports of the treatment taken by a foreign national in his/her own country
  • Statement written and signed by patient or the most immediate family members of patient undertaking all the responsibilities when the patient is under treatment in India; the statement MUST be attested by a notary public and must be translated into English by a sworn translator (if written in Polish)

  • A letter of invitation from the conference organizer should be submitted along with the visa application

  • Letter from the company where applicant is employed with the detailed information regarding the visit to India; letter must be addressed to the Embassy of India, Warsaw
  • A seperate letter addressed to the Embassy of India, Warsaw with the information of the kind of equipment and number of units to be used in India along with their value in USD
  • In case of co-operation with Indian company or partner, letter from Indian partner is required with the detailed information of the visit along with the undertaking of all the responsibilities of the foreign nationals

HOW TO APPLY FOR INDIA VISA

Steps to apply for India visas at Indian embassy or consulate:

Step 1: Gather documents

Arrange all the required documents before appearing in front of the consular officer. Make sure you have the entire permit ready with yourself. Fill your visa application completely.

Step 2: Submit visa application

Submit everything to the embassy. Pay the applicable fee for your visa application at the time of submitting your application form.

Step 3: Wait for visa decision

After your visa is issued you will be notified about it. Collect your visa on time.

1. Do I need a visa to go to India?

All visitors, except for nationals of Nepal, Bhutan and the Maldives, need a visa to enter India.

Maldives nationals need a visa only if they intend to stay in India for longer than 90 days.

Nationals of Nepal need a visa only if they will enter India from China.

2. What is the difference between an e-Visa and a traditional visa?

E-Visa is applied and received online. You don’t need to submit passport or any documents.

On the other hand, you need to contact to Embassy of India in your country and submit all required documents to get India Visa.

You also have to wait about weeks for having traditional Visa instead of few days as e-Visa.

3. Can I apply for a visa at the airport?

No, you cannot apply for a visa at the airport. You need to have an e-Visa before travelling to India. Then you can get the visa stamp in your passport when you arrive.

4. Do children need a visa to visit India?

Yes, children must have a valid visa to travel to India. Fill in a separate application for each child.

5. When should I apply for my Visa?
