Mauritania Visa
Mauritania is a country in Northwest Africa. It is the eleventh largest sovereign state in Africa and is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean to the west, Western Sahara to the north and northwest, Algeria to the northeast, Mauritania to the east and southeast, and Senegal to the southwest.
Nationals of Algeria, Côte d’Ivoire, the Gambia, Libya, Mauritania, Niger, Senegal, Syria and Tunisia do not need a visa. Holders of passports issued by any country can obtain a visa on arrival at Nouakchott International Airport.
WHO NEEDS A VISA?
Visitors to Mauritania must obtain a visa from one of the Mauritanian diplomatic missions unless they come from one of the visa exempt countries or if they arrive at Nouakchott–Oumtounsy International Airport.
Citizens of the following 8 countries can visit Mauritania without a visa for up to 90 days:
Algeria
Côte d’Ivoire
Gambia
Libya
Mali
Niger
Senegal
Tunisia
Holders of diplomatic and service passports issued to nationals of Brazil, Bulgaria, China, Egypt, Guinea-Bissau, Iran, Morocco and Turkey do not require a visa for Mauritania.
Nationals of any country with a diplomatic passport except Italy do not require a visa.
TYPES OF MAURITANIA VISA
Mauritania tourist visa is granted for a short period of leisure travel and no business activities permitted.
Mauritania Transit visa is valid for 3 days or less, for transferring through port in Mauritius to a third destination.
On-arrival visa for Mauritius is given at a port of entry. This is different from not needing a visa at all, as the visitor sholud still get the visa before they can in fact seek to pass through immigration.
Student visa for Mauritius which permits its holder to study at an institution of higher education in Mauritius.

Spousal visa or partner visa given to the spouse, civil partner or de facto partner of a resident or Mauritania citizen.
Mauritania business visa is for participating in short term commerce in Mauritius.
Mauritania Marriage visa is given for a lengthy time prior to civil partnership wedding based on a proven relationship with a citizen or resident of Mauritius.
A transit Visa may be granted to a passenger travelling to a third country
