Mozambique Visa
Mozambique is a country on the Indian Ocean coast of Southern Africa bordered by South Africa to the south, Tanzania to the north and with inland borders with Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Swaziland.
Visitors to Mozambique unless they come from one of the visa exempt countries can obtain a visa on arrival at all border posts or from one of the Mozambican diplomatic missions. Mozambique is part of SADC meaning that members of other SADC countries do not require a tourist visa if visiting Mozambique for tourism purposes.

This visa is issued to applicants who travel to the country for diplomatic reasons.
This visa is issued to applicants who are invited by the Mozambican authorities.
This visa is issued to applicants who travel to the country for official reasons.
This visa is issued to applicants who travel to the country for business reasons.
This visa is issued to applicants who travel to the country for employment reasons.
This visa is issued to applicants who travel to the country for permanent residency.
This visa is issued to applicants who travel to the country for touristic reasons.
This visa is issued to applicants who travel to the country for visiting family or friends.
This visa is issued to applicants who travel to the country for academic reasons.

Work visa requirements
- Passport or similar document. The document should have a validity not less than six (6) months / 180 (one hundred eighty) days.
- Means of support :Proof of possession of sufficient funds during the applicant’s stay in Mozambique.
- Recent photo: Applicants should provide one recent passport sized photo.
- Criminal record certificate: Criminal Record Certificate with validity not exceeding ninety days, issued by the competent authority of the country of origin or country of residence for the last 2 years.
- Supporting document : Supporting document that enables applicant to exercise a given profession in Mozambique and work permit, if the applicant wishes to pursue an independent profession.
- Medical certificate
- Authorization by the ministry of justice
- Document of investment: Document of investment and/or permission of work, signed by the competent authority if applicant is an entrepreneur.
- Work authorization: Authorization or permission to work, issued by Ministry of Labour, if the applicant will be working with or without pay;
- Employment contract : Employment contract signed by the competent authorities, if employed by others.
- Visa application fees: Applicants should include to the application proof of payment for visa processing fees.
- Application for entry form: The form entitled application for entry to mozambique has to be duly completed and signed by the applicant.
Student visa requirements
- Passport or similar document: The document should have a validity not less than six (6) months / 180 (one hundred eighty) days.
- Means of support : Proof of possession of sufficient funds during the applicant’s stay in Mozambique.
- Proof of scholarship or course attendance
Written proof that the applicant has a scholarship in Mozambique or written proof to ensure the attendance of the course;

Applicants should provide one recent passport sized photo.

- Accommodation proof
Proof of guaranteed housing and other basic, such as food and transportation needs in Mozambique for students without a scholarship.

- Liability letter
A liability letter, if the visa application is based on invitation by a private entity; the letter should be certified by the Notary Service of Mozambique. The liability letter must include a commitment that ensures that the costs of the stay of the applicant in Mozambique are covered, as well as any costs of repatriation, if necessary.
- Travel consent
If a minor is traveling alone or with one parent only, a travel consent document is required. The document should be signed by the parent(s)/ legal guardian and authenticated by the relevant authorities of the country of origin or residence for the past two years.
