Oman is an Arab country on the southeastern coast of the Arabian Peninsula in Western Asia. Oman is categorized as a high-income economy and ranks as the 70th most peaceful country in the world according to the Global Peace Index.
Visitors to Oman must obtain a visa prior to travel unless they come from one of the visa exempt countries, or if they’re citizens of a country allowing them to get a visa on arrival.
Citizens of member nations of the Gulf Cooperation Council may travel to Oman without visa limits. Nationals of 71 other countries and territories can apply for visas online which are valid for a period of 30 days. All visitors must hold a passport valid for 6 months.

TYPES OF OMAN VISA
It's granted by the authority to the person who wants to visit Oman, by properly identifying their personal detail. With this visa, you can stay max thirty days in Oman.
It’s applied when any local resident of Oman sponsors to foreign person for the business purpose. Age of foreign should be twenty years or more than twenty-one years.
This visa is granted to the partner, who is the citizen in Oman also to children whose age is below than twenty-one years after complete investigation of their marriage certificates. This visa is applicable for six months.
Students arriving to Oman for study purpose should apply for this Oman Visa. It allows the stay of 2-3 years in Oman from the date of entry.
This visa is granted to those foreigners who want to invest his funds in Oman. He/she can stay six months in Oman.
It’s sponsored by a resident of Oman to the foreigner on his responsibility for business, festivals and other conventions. This visa allows staying in Oman for three weeks.
It is granted on the request of Omani, under the sponsorship to his relative or friend.
At the request of hosting government organization, this visa is granted to foreigners.
It is sponsored by local Omani and on condition that artist will perform in Entertaining shows.
It is granted to the truck driver (Only one person) for road passage on his way.
This visa is granted by proper concerning of authorities, Oman as well as foreigners. By proper investigation of foreigners who want to visit Oman for scientific research.
This visa is granted to passenger & crew for tourism, during their stoppage at Oman ports. It’s applicable for less than twenty-four hours.
OMAN VISA REQUIREMENTS
Tourist visa requirements:
- Valid for use within six months from the date of issuance.
- Valid for staying in the country for a period not exceeding thirty days from the date of entry.
- Number of trips: one trip only.
- May be extended for a similar period.
- Fees: (20) Omani Riyals.
- Fine: Upon expiration of the visa (10) ten Riyals for each day of delay.
- If the validity of the visa is for (10) days, the fees will be (RO5). It can also be extended to similar periods at the same charge per period.
Employment visa requires:
- Two photographs size (4X6) cm.
- Copy of the foreigner’s passport, provided it is valid for a period not less than six months.
- The original labour permit issued by the Ministry of Manpower and a copy thereof with each application form.
- In case the application is presented by someone other than the sponsor, the representative must be Omani and holding a written authorisation issued from the Directorate General of Passport & Residence as per the sponsor’s request.
- A medical fitness certificate issued for citizens of some countries specified as follows by the Ministry of Health (India, Pakistan, Philippines, Bangladesh, Oman, Sri Lanka, Egypt, Syria, Sudan, Ethiopia); certificate must be endorsed by the Ministry of Health.
- Copy of the approval of the concerned authority for specific professions such as: Educational professions, Religious professions, Media professions, Medical, ….etc
Multiple Entry visa requirements:
- Enclose tow photos size (4 X 6).
- Bring copy of foreign passport valid for a period not less than six months.
- Enclose copy of specimen of authorised signatories issued by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (for applications submitted with local sponsorship).
- Enclose valid copy of the certificate of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (for application submitted with local sponsorship) along with valid copy of commercial registration.
- Covering letter from sponsor, signed and stamp explaining the purpose of the visit.
- The person whom the application is submitted should be in the Sultanate with express visa on the same sponsor.
