Panama  is a country in Central America, bordered by Costa Rica to the west, Colombia to the southeast, the Caribbean Sea to the north and the Pacific Ocean to the south.

Visitors to Panama require a visa unless they are citizens of one of the eligible countries who do not require a visa for up to 180 days. All visitors must hold a passport valid for  months.

REQUIREMENTS OF PANAMA VISA

  • Fill out Application Form in print or typewritten.
  • Original passport, valid for at least 3 months.
  • 3 Photographs (size: 2×2, with white background)
  • Copy of resident card, personal identification document from country of origin or US Permanent Resident card or US Visa, if applicable.
  • Flight reservation with itinerary of trip continuation or electronic ticket.
  • Hotel reservation (if applicable)
  • Proof of economic solvency during stay

TYPES OF PANAMA VISA

The type of visa depends on the person’s country of origin. Republic of Panama can provide the following types of visas for visitors:

Autherized visa (PV-1)

An authorized visa is a restrictive tourist visa that visitors need to obtain before they enter Panama.

Visa Stamp (EV‐2)

This visa must be request from the Panama consulates, it is always a tourist visa. A visa stamp is another type of tourist visa that must be obtained by a tourist from the Panamanian Consulate in his or her country of residence. It permits a visitor to enter Panama several times throughout the year. The validity of the length of stay for a visitor with stamped visa is generally 30 days per visit.

Tourist Card (TT ‐3):

Countries that enter Panama with tourist card don’t need any types of visa.

Visa abolition agreements (ASV-4)

The countries listed in this catagory have signed agreement with Panama under which they are multually exempt from any visa requirements to enter the other country.

HOW TO APPLY FOR PANAMA VISA

Depending on the nationality of the visitor, he or she may additionally require an authorized visa or a visa stamp or a tourist card or only a passport to enter Panama.

Before you apply for Panama tourist visa, check the processing time required for the visa to be issued. Once you are aware of all the details regarding the application, you can go ahead with the following procedure:

Step 1: Gather documents

Make a check list of the documents that you need to submit along with your application form. Gather all the documents and keep them ready for submission.

Step 2: Submit visa application

Submit your completed visa application form in person or through a representative or travel agent at the Panama Embassy or Consulate nearest to you, along with all the required documentation. Pay the applicable fee for your visa application at the time of submitting your application form.

Step 3: Collect your visa

After your visa is issued you will be notified about it. Collect your visa on time.

It takes about 04-05 working days for processing after getting approval. In some case it may take longer.
