Regardless of the nationality, anyone travelling to Peru for business purposes, especially when business contracts or agreements are signed or business related financial transaction are made, has to apply for a business visa at a Peruvian Consulate before entering the country.

Tourist visa

Nationals of a few other countries need a visa even for tourism purposes. Peru doesn't offer online visa application, so these nationals have to apply for their tourist visa at the Peruvian Consulate that has jurisdiction over their domicile or country of residence.

Business visa

Student Visa

If you want to work in Peru, you must apply a special type of visa called “el Carné de extranjeria”.

  • Letter from the company sponsoring the business trip, indicating the purpose of the visit to Peru, length of the stay, and assurance that the business person is travelling with sufficient funds to last the duration of the trip

HOW TO APPLY FOR A PERU VISA

Before you apply for Peru tourist visa, find out the nearest Peruvian Diplomatic Mission. Check out the processing time required to issue a tourist visa. Peru does not offer the facility to apply for a tourist visa online.

Step 1: Gather documents

Make a check list of the documents that you need to submit along with your application form. Gather all the documents and keep them ready for submission.

Step 2: Submit visa application

Submit your completed visa application form in person or through a representative or travel agent at the Peru Embassy or Consulate nearest to you, along with all the required documentation. Pay the applicable fee for your visa application at the time of submitting your application form.

Step 3: Collect your visa

After your visa is issued you will be notified about it. Collect your visa on time.
