Tanzania is the largest country in East Africa, bordered by Kenya and Uganda to the north; Rwanda, Burundi, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the west, and Zambia, Malawi, and Mozambique to the south. Visitors to Tanzania must obtain a visa from one of the Tanzanian diplomatic missions or online unless they come from one of the visa exempt countries or countries whose citizens can obtain a visa on arrival.
TYPES OF TANZANIA VISA
This visa allows you entry into Tanzania once for the purpose of visiting, leisure, medical treatment, studies or any other activity considered legal by the Tanzanian government. You may stay in the country for a maximum of 90 days.
This visa is ideal for people who need to make frequent visits to Tanzania. The maximum validity of the multiple-entry visa is 12 months. Each visit has a maximum stay of up to 90 days.
The Tanzanian business visa will only be granted entry once into Tanzania for the following purposes:
To conduct special assignments, including fixing/repairing machines or to run short-term training etc.
For professional roles such as auditing accounts etc.
In order to conduct lawful business according to the laws of the country
TANZANIA VISA REQUIREMENTS
You need to bring along the following documents when applying at the High Commission:
- Completed visa application form
- A valid passport (valid for at least six months from the date of your application)
- Two recent passport sized photographs (on white background)
- Visa fee (cash)
- An invitation letter (if you are being invited over)
- Hotel reservation
- Six-months bank statement
- Yellow Fever vaccination certificate
- Copy of certificate of registration and official Identity Card
- Any refusal notice from other embassies is required
Some additional documents may be required if necessary, depending on the purpose of stay.
HOW TO APPLY FOR TANZANIA VISA
All applications must be made in person (except for government officials, agencies and religious groups) in your country.
To apply for a Tanzania visa, you may consider the following steps to submit your visa application to the nearest Tanzania embassy or consulate:
Make a check list of the documents that you need to submit along with your application form. Gather all the documents and keep them ready for submission.
Submit your completed visa application form in person or through a representative or travel agent at the Tanzania Embassy or Consulate nearest to you, along with all the required documentation. Pay the applicable fee for your visa application at the time of submitting your application form.
After your visa is issued you will be notified about it. Collect your visa on time.
TANZANIA VISA VALIDITY
Tanzania Single-entry (business and tourist) visa is valid for three months from the date of issue. Multiple-entry visa is valid for either six or 12 months from the date of issue.

Visa processing takes a minimum of ten (10) working days for regular process.
