Zimbabwe is a landlocked country located in southern Africa, between the Zambezi and Limpopo Rivers, bordered by South Africa, Botswana, Zambia and Mozambique. Visitors to Zimbabwe must obtain a visa from one of the Zimbabwean diplomatic missions or online unless they come from one of the visa exempt countries or are eligible for visa on arrival.

VISA EXEMPTIONS

Zimbabwe has 3 visa categories:

Category A

Category A: Countries whose nationals do NOT require a Visa. No action required, you will be granted easy entry at any border post.

For a stay of up to 6 months: Hong Kong SAR

For a stay of up to 3 months: Antigua and Barbuda, Aruba, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Botswana, Congo (DRC), Cyprus, Fiji, Grenada, Jamaica, Kenya, Kiribati, Lesotho, Malaysia, Malawi, Maldives, Malta, Mauritius, Namibia, Nauru, Samoa, Singapore, Solomon Islands, St Kitts and Nevis, St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadies, Swaziland, Tanzania, Trinidad and Tobago, Tuvalu, Uganda, Vanuatu and Zambia

Category B

Category B: Countries whose nationals are granted a Zimbabwe visa at the port of entry on payment of requisite visa fees. These visas are easiest obtained on your arrival at the Airport or border post. If you get them done via an agency in your home country they will often cost you quite a bit more and be a lot more hassle.

Argentina, Austria, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Brunei, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Dominican Republic, Egypt, Finland, France, Germany, Ghana (Gratis), Greece, Hungary, Indonesia, Iceland, India, Iran , Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kuwait, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Macau, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Palau Island, Palestine (State of), Papua New Guinea, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Seychelles, Slovak Republic, South Africa (Gratis), South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates, Uruguay, United Kingdom, United States, Vatican City and Virgin Islands

Visa fees at the port of entry for Category B nationals are as follows: US$30 (single entry), US$45 (double entry), US$55 (multiple entry) – a valid passport, travel itinerary, return/onward journey ticket and cash payment must be presented. Note that Canadian citizens are able to obtain single entry visas only on arrival at a cost of US$75, whilst British and Irish citizens pay higher fees for a visa on arrival (US$55 for single entry and US$70 for double entry). Visas appear not to be required for minors accompanied by a parent even though border personnel at land border crossings do not typically seem to be aware of this. Simply ask for it and you might be able to save the fee.

Category C

Visas can be obtained at Zimbabwean embassies/consulates. The fees for a visa vary between US$30 and 180 and depend on the applicant’s nationality.

REQUIREMENT FOR ZIMBABUWE VISA

All Categories need:-

  • Passport valid for a least 6 months from your date of entry.
    • Return ticket to your country (or enough money to buy one)
    • Sufficient funds to cover your stay in Zimbabwe
    • Enough blank pages in your passport to fit the required entry visa.

HOW TO APPLY FOR ZIMBABUWE VISA

If you want to apply for Zimbabuwe visa at the embassy or consulate, you should consider the following steps:

Step 1: Gather documents

Make a check list of the documents that you need to submit along with your application form. Gather all the documents and keep them ready for submission.

Step 2: Submit visa application

Submit your completed visa application form in person or through a representative or travel agent at the Zimbabuwe Embassy or Consulate nearest to you, along with all the required documentation. Pay the applicable fee for your visa application at the time of submitting your application form.

Step 3: Collect your visa

After your visa is issued you will be notified about it. Collect your visa on time.

Visitors belong to Category B countries (listed below) will need to pay a fee for their visa when they arrive at the port of entry, whether it is at the land border or at the airport. Category C nationals who applied for a visa online will also need to pay for their visa on arrival. It is recomended these visitors to have cash for their visas as credit card machines have become more and more unreliable when it comes to payments for visas.
