VISA FREE COUNTRIES
Visa policy of Albania is similar to the visa policy of the Schengen Area. It grants 90-day visa-free entry to all Schengen Annex II nationalities, except for Dominica, East Timor, Grenada, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Palau, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu. It also grants visa-free entry to several additional countries – Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Kuwait and Turkey.
Albania classifies their visas according to how long you’ll stay in Albania and the purpose of your trip.
This type of visa is for someone who is switching planes inside of Albania and isn’t going to be in the country for very long.
This type of visa is for someone who is switching planes inside of Albania and isn’t going to be in the country for no more than 5 days.
Tourist visa: This type of visa is for someone who is taking an extended tourist trip. If you’re looking for a tourist visa, this is what you want!
Visa for Cultural or Sports Reasons for Albania: This type of visa is for someone who is visiting in a cultural capacity or is participating in sports. This visa is good for 90-180 days.
Visa for Official Purposes: This type of visa is for someone who is meeting with the government of Albania on official business.
Visa for Medical Purposes: This type of visa is for someone who is wanting to get medical treatment in Albania.
Visa for Work Reasons: This type of visa is for someone who is taking a short business trip.
This type of visa is for someone who is staying in Albania from 180 days to 1 year. A work visa is included with this type of visa.

The citizens of the following countries may obtain a visa at any entry point by payment:
FYR Macedonia (10 Euro; at the Embassy 5 Euro), Montenegro (free of charge), Israel (30 Euro).
The citizens of other countries are required to obtain visas at the missions of the Republic of Albania that cover the country of residence.
An entry tax must be payed upon entry to the country, by air, sea or land. The amount varies for different nationalities. The amount for North American and EU citizens is US$5. An exit tax is required at Rinas Airport, which is US$10.
