HOW TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT FOR US VISA INTERVIEW

Beside providing enough required documents, the success of visa interview will help to decide that your visa application is refused or accepted. Most applicants are required to appear at the US embassy or consulate in person for visa interview. And firstly they must schedule an appointment for that. However many people don’t know how to schedule an appointment for US visa interview and how to prepare for that. This post will help you understand and prepare for a good visa interview.

Most applicants for U.S. visas are required to schedule an appointment for an interview either online using this website or through the call center and appear in person for that visa interview at the U.S. Embassy or Consulate General.

If you are renewing a previous U.S. visa and qualify for an interview waiver, you must also schedule an appointment via the website or call center to register your application, and then submit your passport and associated documents at any branch of CITIC Bank.

To schedule a nonimmigrant visa appointment or apply for a visa renewal via the drop-off service, you must have the following information and documents available:

A passport valid for travel to the United States with a validity date at least six months beyond your intended period of stay in the United States (unless country-specific agreements provide exemptions) and at least two blank visa pages;

Each person, including children, applying for a U.S. visa must have his or her own individual passport and form DS160;

Payment receipt of your visa application (MRV) fee;

Your DS-160 confirmation page (Important Notice: The barcode on your DS-160 must match your appointment confirmation page. You cannot reuse a DS-160 from a previous interview.);

A color photograph (Your photo must be 2×2 inches, taken within the last SIX months on a white background, without eyeglasses and must not be retouched). Also, if the digital photo you uploaded to your online DS-160 is of the same quality, we will be able to process your case faster;

Your e-mail address; and

If applicable, required documents based on visa class (such as a petition approval for petition-based visas; more information about visa types and information about each can be found

You must make an appointment online through the authorized websites. Depending on your nationality, you must choose a correct website to schedule an appointment as below:

Group A:

Europe

To schedule an appointment for US visa interview, you should read throughly the following steps:

Head over the US Travel Docs website: http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ or https://ais.usvisa-info.com/as the direction above.

Select the country from the map where you would like to schedule your appointment

Select “Yes” to the question “Is this your first time applying for a visa and/or visiting our site?”

Select “Nonimmigrant” to the question “Are you applying for a nonimmigrant or immigrant visa?”

Nonimmigrant visa information and instructions will be displayed

Read through the instructions to familiarize yourself with the application, the steps and the payment options

If you schedule appointment online, please read carefully and follow the instruction step and step. Remember the type of visa you want to apply to choose the suitable information.

Note:

You can schedule US visa appointment anywhere in the world.

Applicants are only allowed to reschedule twice (not including the initial appointment) without penalty. After the second rescheduling, if you cancel or fail to attend your appointment, you will only be allowed to reschedule a new appointment after a waiting period of 90 days.
